• Conductivity
• Hardness (calcium and total)
• Oil and grease
• Silt density index
• Total dissolved solids
• Total suspended solids
• Turbidity
• Elements such as arsenic, copper, lead, cadmium, nickel, magnesium, iron and sodium
• Standard plate counts
• Total coliform counts
• Escherichia coli
• Faecal coliform counts, and
